drScott C. Upright, DDS

Dr. Upright has a gentle friendly nature. Your comfort is his main concern. He has a strong belief in the utilization of advanced dental technology with good old fashioned hand holding care. Dr. Upright combines art and science to help you achieve a confident and natural smile.

Dr. Upright has enjoyed getting to know his patients personally through the years and working with such a great team every day. Whether it's helping a little one get through their first filling while watching "Dora the Explorer"......or helping a new patient who has been away from the dentist for a long time overcome their fears and worries!!

Dr. Upright has been very involved in the teaching and developement of the Cerec technology. Countless hours are spent researching materials and developing proven systems. He has been a Cerec dentist for over 10 years. Continuing education and training are of the utmost importance to him.

He grew up just north of Charlotte MI, where his Dad still maintains the family centennial farm. He is married to Debbie who works as a sales rep for Butler Schein Animal Health calling on veterinarians. Dr. Upright enjoys running, gardening and spending time with his wife and their two Newfy's Coco and Cosmo.

Dr. Upright did his undergraduate work at Saginaw Valley State University and then went on to earn his doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 1991. He began his career with Dr. John Dee in Saginaw and Freeland. In 1994, Dr.Upright aquired the well respected office of Dr. David Murphy and has continued to serve the Marlette community for the past 16 years.

Michele - Registered Dental Hygienist

Michele has been employed at Upright Dental for 12 years. She has been a dental Hygienist for 30 years. She graduated from Marlette High School in 1974 and graduated from Mott Community College with a degree in Allied Health in 1979. She has been married to her husband, Fred, for 31 years and has 4 grown Children, Stephen, Andrea Emily and Kevin. The older two are married and the younger two are finishing college. Michele has 2 grandchildren with 1 on the way. She has always enjoyed her career in dental hygiene and has had many fond memories of her patients over the years.

Michele's dental assisting career started back in 1988, been assisting for 21 years. She has two wonderful teenage boys who love to plays sports, as much as she enjoys watching them.

Chris

Chris has been in the dental field for 35 years. She married her husband Mike in 1975 who is employed by Huntoon Lumber in Marlette as an assistant Manager. She has one son Jake who is employed at Marlette Regional Hospital as a pharmacy technician. She has a beautiful granddaughter, Jordyn who is Grandma's "angel Girl" She started her career in 1975 at a dental office in Marlette after 3 years she went to work in an office in Imaly City for 3 years. Returned to Marlette and have been with Upright Dental for the last 29 years. She and her Husband graduated from Marlette High School and continued to live in Marlette to be close to family and friends.

Lorie - Office Manager

She has been in dentistry for 22 years. She started working in Sandusky with Dr. David Brown in August 1987. She was at that time a dental assistant. In 1991 she went up front to take care of all the insurances and patient care. In 1998 she became office manager.

After 20 years there it was time for a change and Upright Dental was the answer. She has been working there for almost 2 years and Loves IT. She feels Dr. Upright is like a breath of fresh air. She feels Dr. Upright is a very kind, caring and honest Man and is proud to work with him and his entire team.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 22 years. Her husband Ted is a district Manager for Pizza Hut he has worked with Daland Corporation for 23 years. They have a son Curtis; he is 20 years old and in his 3rd year of College. Her Daughter Erin is 15 yrs old and a sophomore at Sandusky High School. Erin is in every sport she can be in and her and Ted love to watch her play.

She graduated from Sandusky High School and has lived in Sandusky all her life and is proud to raise her children in this area. Her and her husband enjoy golfing together and with friends and feel the summer months are to short. She loves to read and spend time with family and friends.

Carmin -Registered Dental Hygienist

Carmin has been a hygienist for 18 years. She graduated from Marlette high School in 1989 and went to Ferris State Univ. in 1991. She loves working for Dr. Upright and looks forward to seeing her patients and coworkers. The aspect of her job that she enjoys the most is helping her patients feel good about their smile and feel good about themselves!
Her and her husband Steve have been married for 16 years and have two children, Caitlin and Cole. They live in Marlette and their children attend Marlette Elementary. Her husband Steve owns and operates Farm Bureau Insurance in Marlette. We feel very blessed to live and work in this wonderful community.

Lisa- Dental Assistant

Lisa has 11 years of dental assisting under her belt. She joined the Upright dental team a little over a year ago and loves it. She enjoys golfing and spending time with Friends and family.
